Royal Ascot - Race 1 v Race Winner

Well, I think we hit the bar today with Takeovertarget just getting done on the lime, by a 22/1 unfancied spansih horse. Still I fully expect to get back Tuesdays losses as I look to go through the card today.

The day starts with the Jersey stakes for 3 year olds. Some interesting trends in this race include the fact that no previous group race winner has won this for over 20 years, and only a few listed race winners have been successful. The stats also say that most winners have been in the first 4 last time out (LTO) and fillies have a bad record in the race. The "prep" race for this has been run at Mewmarket for years now and this year it was won in very good style by the Saeed Bin Surror colt Calming Influence. This son of Kings Best has won both his starts to date, and is in the "could be anything" category. It is slightly odd that Dettori chooses Il Warrd over this horse, but he has been wrong in the past, and Kerrin Mcevoy is a more than capable jockey, and actually won on him in the listed event at Newmarket.
