I didn't watch Austria too much and can't say I follow their domestic championhip either, but from what I've seen so far at this tournament I think they're decent and can even get through with some luck. They got beaten by Croatia in the opening match in what was a dull game, the Croatians had scored in the first minutes of the game from a penalty and the match was closed, it was really hard for Austrians to create spaces against a very good Croatian defence. I remember I was quite sceptic regarding their strenght, unsure what to think, how to rate them, but their match against Poland gave me a better picture, hence my bet. Honestly I was impressed by their play against Poland, looked very dangerous especially on counters, Poland were very lucky not to lose despite having scored first. The Germans have the tendency to play possessionaly when they need to score, so I believe that's an advantage for Austria because they might be left some spaces on counters that could eventually lead to a goal(s).
Germany are not as good as I thought they will. They were impressive against Poland, my view at least, but it happened because of Poland who lacked organization at the back and were punished fast on counter-attacks, then the Germans were obviously going to carry on the same play and defend their lead, so they were hard to be beaten afterwards. Against Croatia we've seen a quite fickle German defence, I think the Austrians can score once at least, should they defend well as they did so far they have the best of chance to cover the spread. Also note they'll play on home soil.
