This fixture could endup for the first time in a penalty shootout during the groups stages of a European Championship. Turkey and Czech Republic are in equal balance thusfar. And I think this may very well reflax to the match result.
Turkey lost to Portugal in the first match. That is ok, butt I think they could have left a better impression, they showed to much respect to the Portugeze. In the second match we saw a different Turkey, they avenged their previous elimination by the Swiss, and they must face a winner takes all match against the Czechs. Turkey will have some new faces in their starting eleven. Fatih Terim is still not sure. He always keeps changing in his squad. They will miss playmaker Emre Belazoglu in midfield. This is where they will miss creativity. They will play with 2 defensive minded midfielders. However Arda is a player who's probably more dangerous than Emre IMO.
The Czechs did not deserve to win the first game, and got beaten by Portugal wich was the correct result. So far the Czechs did not prove to me that they deserve to be so high in the FIFA ranking. Czechs have strong defense as long its not under to much pressure. Their offensive is mainly long balls towards the strikers. They find it very difficult in to creating creative chances. They are weaker than expectet, and should not be in the favorites position.
I think stakes are far to high for both of these teams. Cautiousness will be the main strategy IMO. Judging by their style of play I can only predict a draw. Turkey can start strong in to the match butt they will have difficulties in scoring against the conservative czechs. Czechs also try the long balls to often wich will be easily cleared by turkey's tall defenders. I think we will see many battles in midfield and two teams who will alow eachother very little. I Hope that Turkey will win after penalty's :)
