ATP - Roger Federer v Philipp Kohlschreiber
15 June 2008
Preview By Tipster Black-Shadow (Serbia)
Roger Federer's time has finally come. This is a period in a year when the world number one has zero mercy for all of his opponents. In the semis versus Kiefer he got two early breaks and finished the match in a relaxing way afterwards. He returned the ball fantastic and almost every single 2nd serve by Kiefer resulted in Federer's point. In the 1/4 finals against the last year's finalist in Halle, Baghdatis, he also made couple of early breaks in each set. Seeing Roger doing all that with so much easy makes me wonder just one thing - how convincing will he beat Philipp today. Federer apparently couldn't wait for the grass season to begin, in this finals he will seek for his 59th straight win on this surface and there's no doubt that he will easily get it if he'll play at his level.
Backhand slice i top spin shots are his favorite weapons for putting the opponent 'to sleep' on grass, but usually all of his baseline shots can cause trouble to his rivals primarily because of the great game overview FedEx has. I think that during the exchange of shots Roger will really slow the German down and make him get through lots of trouble using his backhand diagonal shots that Fed can send under some very 'unpleasant' angles and as soon as he smells 'blood' he will get over to the net and finish the opponent. These two have met just once, interestingly it was in Halle in 2005. and Federer was better 6/3 6/4. Due to the big motivation and after dropping both of this year's Grand Slams, Roger will want to regain as much self-confidence as possible before 'his' Wimbledon and show that nobody can match him on grass at the moment. Therefore, an easy win is expected so the under would be the most logical choice in this match.
