Euro 2008 - Spain v Russia

Today we see arguably one of the definite favorites this time around in Spain taking on the the Dutch Maestro Guus Hiddink, and thats really what the match up is all about. It how Guus can carve out some genius of a plan for the Russians to execute, but will they be able to do it. With his previous teams that he has had like Korea, Holland and Australia, there has always been some shining players who were expected to perform, but with Russia, doesn't seem that much a possibility.

A team which has really struggled to get any momentum outside home, shows that they can do without their chicks and vodka, really cant expect to cause major havoc to a favorite of the tournament.

With a team that boasts great young talent such as Fernando Torres, David Villa, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Dani Guiza, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Joaquin, its difficult to see the best of the Spain lose especially when each one is a star in their own right at their respective clubs. The good point of having a youn squad without too many older players, is that the manager has good control over the squad, and is able to get the best out of the players.

I clearly favor the Spanish today and even for the tournament, and in the worst case that they win 1-0, we win atleast half the bet. So its worth a good punt.
