ATP - Alejandro Falla v Kei Nishikori
Make no mistake with Alejandro Falla. He may be South American, but he is pretty good grass courter! He has reached the second round of Wimbledon, coming from the qualifying round twice and last season, he has also reached second round in this tournament, by taking out the 10th seed Julien Benneteau in the first round by 7:5 6:3. Falla is an amazing returner on fast surfaces and his serve is pretty acceptable. He showed in Roland Garros that he is physically at 100% again, after an injury lay-off, by defeating the 20th seed Ivo Karlovic in the first round and taking Julien Benneteau in the second round to five sets.
Kei Nishikori has basically no experience on grass, as he just played in the junior tournament of Wimbledon once (lost in the first round) and then played on a Davis Cup tie against India on grass, where he defeated Mahesh Bhupathi and was defeated by Rohan Boppana. Nishikori played in Surbiton last week, but he lost in the first round, with his match being played on an indoor surface, due to rain. Actually Nishikori retired in that match, when he was trailing 5:1 in the first set. The Japanese player won't be at 100% physically and with both players lacking an huge serve, the baseline rallies will be quite long, if we take in consideration the surface they will play on.
Falla is an experience and proved good player on grass, while Nishikori has no experience and he will be coming from a retirement in his last match. Falla should take advantage of that, by taking the win in this match. Take Falla to win in here. Regular Play.
