ATP - Jonas Bjorkman v Igor Kunitsyn
Oddmakers error in here. Jonas Bjorkman may be 2-7 since March, but on grass it's a completely different story. He is 16-6 on this surface since 2006 and his serve & volley game is still great for this surface. He reached semi finals in Wimbledon in 2006 and already in this season, he served & volley through semi finals in the indoor surface of Memphis, where he could also fully adapt his offensive game to the surface. He lost in the first round of Roland Garros and since than, he had two weeks to prepare for the grass season, where he should be one of the most dangerous players once again.
Igor Kunitsyn reached semi finals in Poertschach, on clay, and since then he hasn't played a single match. Even though he showed to be in good shape, he is 5-8 on grass since 2006, with his only wins against Top 100 players on grass coming against players who has publicly said that they hate to play on the surface, Calleri and Monfils. Besides that, straight sets losses against Gilles Simon, Nicolas Mahut, Mikhail Youzhny, Robert Kendrick and Juan Martin Del Potro show that Kunitsyn simply can't compete against the world class players on this surface.
Bjorkman loves grass and he is the kind of player who takes advantage of every chance his opponents gives to him. The Swedish player is better on grass, more experienced and has a most consistent game, and he should get this one. Take Bjorkman to win. Regular Play.
