Euro 2008 - Germany v Poland

Germany and Poland, two big country rivals. Germany is one of the biggest favorites on this tournament and they this year are having great offensive line up. The defensive line is not weaker than offensive, but lack of matches of their goalkeeper Lehman could be their main problem. He is old and has very few matches this season.

Poland is pretty compact team, they managed to finish on the top position in the qualification group over Portugal and Serbia. They played very well against Portugal, but I blame Portugal because they played very lazy on the qualifications. Not it is different. Polish players do not have experience playing in this kind of competitions and prove for that is their poor performances in previous big tournaments.

In Germany, for group stages in the World Cup, both teams were in the same group and Poland gave huge resistance even though they were almost one half with player less, losing the match in the final seconds of the game.

Germany without a doubt is better team than Poland in every aspect of football, except maybe Polish will have advantage on the goalkeeper position where Lehman’s performances are one big question mark. Germany is too strong for this Poland team and knowing the fact that German team had two disappointing Euros in a row with no win in their last 6 matches and 2 failures in a row to pass the group stages they will try to make their way through group easier with giving their best and winning the first match against hugely motivated, but much weaker Poland.
