Euro 2008 - Croatia v To Qualify

As I said in the other pick regarding Austria, Croatia are the biggest for advancing to the second round with Germany.

They have the right mix of young and experienced players in the squad and also their coach is a winning man, still young and very charismatic. Their defense is composed by very experienced players leading by Simic and Simunic, their unique handicap is the speed, they could suffer fast strikers but the other three National teams don’t seem to have players with these characteristics. If, as it seems, in front of them will play Kovac I think that this defensive line could be not easy to overcome.

The midfield is the point of strength of this team. In the middle of the field there are good players that will assure both quality and quantity, in fact all the fundamental players are able in defensive and offensive phases. The best players is, for me Modric, very intelligent players and with a good capacity to organize the maneuver.

Near this players will play Kranjcar and Rakitic that will assure good cross for the stickers.

As regarding the attack line, the absence of Da Silva and the not great condition for Klasnic and Budan (injured recently) will create some problem for the coach but I think that Petric and Olic can represent a good alternative.

If all the strickers would be available and in good moment I think that Croazia would have fight with Germany for the lead of the group but in this condition they will join the next round but as second in their group.
