Euro 2008 - Switzerland v Czech Republic

The entire world thinks that there would not be many goals in opening game of EC 2008. So do I.

Switzerland did not play a formal match in almost last 2 years. This may be challenge for home team. Since a long time in the opening games of such tournaments like this, home teams did not show good performance.

Czhech Republic finished the qualification group as leader above strong Germany and managed to label their name for this competition. Czhech Republic is being coached by Karel Brückner for 6 years. Their goal keeper Petr Cech is their most popular player in their squad. Due to injury before such important game like this Tomáš Ujfaluši from Fiorentina who was a very important defender of Czhech Republic, will not be in the squad. Can they trust Jan Koller? Well I do not know very much but he is 36 years old and scored 51 goals in his national team as he has better performance than he has in Nurnberg, but when it comes to Milan Baros from Portsmouth I may believe that there may be more danger for their rival.

Czhech Republic may have challenge in scoring but they have a very good goal keeper and they are very good in such tournaments like this. Switzerland will be playing at home but I doubt they can not win this game due to the reasons above. Both teams are aware of the importance of this opening game and will not want to lose. My choice is draw.
