7 June 2008
Preview By Tipster FxDiamond (Portugal)
Competition: UEFA EURO 2008 GROUP A
Date: Sat 7 June
Kick-off: 19h45 BST
Venue: Stade de Geneve, Geneva
Portugal's Jose Bosingwa, who joined Chelsea from Porto last month, is expected to be fit for selection after recovering from a muscle strain.
And Cristiano Ronaldo should also start having recovered from a knock which saw him train with ice strapped to his ankle earlier in the week.
Yesterday on the news, Scolari said that all the 23 players are available and fit, wich are really good news.
The first game is always the most important, and Portugal have here some advantages by playing in Austria/Switzerland, because in Switzerland live more then 120,000 Portuguese.
On the Turkish side there are some troubles.
Turkey's Hamit Altintop is a doubt for the Group A clash.
The midfielder is confident of playing, but his club Bayern Munich said he is struggling with a muscle strain.
Turkey is not one of the best teams in competition and Portugal usuall plays well against them.
For this match, Portugal will play with the strongest defence of Euro2008 in my opinion, with Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe in the center, while Paulo Ferreira and Miguel will play in the wings.
The attack for this match will be composed by Simão on the left, Ronaldo in the right and Nuno Gomes in the striker position.
I think Portugal is very moralized. People are getting a lot of hope for this selection and Ronaldo is also in good form. While he is not a SuperMan, but it's the Best Player in the World.
I expect a Portuguese victory by 2-0 maybe.
