WTA - Radwanska v Alize Cornet
Agnieszka Radwanska is already one of the best players in the world and she is trying to enter the Top 10 after this tournament. The Polish player comes from a win in Strasbourg last week, where she defeated Elena Dementieva in the final by 6:3 6:2, showing that she is in good form, something which always happens with her at the start of a Grand Slam. Radwanska showed that by easily defeating her opponents in the previous two rounds in here. She is one of the smartest players on court and she always seem to have the best tactic for each match she plays. Her number of unforced errors is most of the times ridiculous low and she is capable of doing basically everything on a tennis court, no matter which surface we are talking about. She is also beginning to get some experience at this level, as this is going to be her 4th third round match on a Grand Slam in a row for her.
Alize Cornet put all the French media looking at her after reaching the final of Berlin two weeks ago and if all eyes were on her, now that Bartoli and Mauresmo are out of the tournament, she is the last hope of getting a French female player on the second week of this tournament. That's simply too much pressure on Cornet's shoulders, who couldn't deal with the pressure in being in the Berlin final (played a terrible match against Jankovic) and she wasn't exactly brilliant in her first two matches in here neither. Cornet is just 18 years old and she has never defeated a Top 30 player on a Grand Slam before (0-6 against these type of players until now).
Radwanska has already showed she lifts her game on Grand Slams and she has nerves of steel, by being capable of defeating world class players on Grand Slams. Sharapova and Kuznetsova are the main examples of that. Cornet has too much pressure and she is simply not good enough to beat Radwanska right now. The Polish player should advance to the fourth round in here. Regular Play.
