Marseille let a good opportunity sleep away when they were forced to draw at Le Mans and could not take advantage of Nancy’s defeat in Lyon. Now the situation is simple for the phoceans, they have to take 3 points against Strasbourg and hope that Nancy doesn’t beat Rennes.
Now OM’s job should be quite easy on this Saturday, even if their latest performances have been not so good. It’s the latest game of the season and they have to win in front of their fans. I guess Velodrome’s stadium won’t forgive them if they don’t win in a great fashion. Important defender Rodriguez is out, while midfielder Kabore is suspended. Nasri is doubtful but I believe he’ll play. Coach Gerets still believe in the qualification for the Champion’s league, and it makes no doubt to him that his team will win this match against Strasbourg.
On the other side, the alsacians have broken a record of 10 straight losses, and judging by what’s going on around the team, I’m really afraid that loss n°11 will be a tough one. Important Cohade is still missing while Abdessadki and Johansen have been ruled out of the team, Renteria is injured as well as Othon. There is absolutely no passion in the team anymore and everybody knows that. Only few players are still playing in order to respect the club but most of them don’t care about the club anymore.
It should not take a long analysis to tell that Marseille will win, odds already reflect that, but in my mind, if Marseille scores an early goal, then we can expect a goal fest. 4-0 or 5-0 won’t even surprise me as Strasbourg will field many youngsters. Marseille will want to finish well and will dominate this game from the start.
