ATP - David Ferrer v Stanislas Wawrinka

Completely agree with Lasse here. Ferrer is one of top clay court player, no doubt about that. He is pure example how You can reach very high level thanks to work and fighting spirit, that allow him to escape from very hard situation. But also there is some negative factors. In my opinion You can't run and run week by week - even mentally and physically strongest players get exhausted. This will be David 14 match in 20 days - insane. He got a lot problems vs Lapentti, that shouldn't happen normally. OK, he beat inform Robredo, but also Tommy played a lot tennis lately and Ferrer just get through thanks to better fighting spirit. There was a lot rallies in that match and Robredo clearly lacked shot power and pace. But these things are one of weapon of Wawrinka, who just love to play in these Barca courts with 15-3 record there. He had pretty tight match with Montanes, who played surprising well. But It's very typical for Swiss to get relaxed after winning set, so close matches against lower ranked players isn't anything special. Wawa produces a lot variety shots from baseline, that is very uncomfortable for player like Ferrer, who just need to dig deep to get all these balls back. So in my opinion Stan is very bad match up for tired David. And I find very nice value on Swiss.
