What a pitchers duel last night. 1 run total, scored by the Sox in the bottom of the 9th to win it. Crazy. Awesome pitching performances..the offense should come out tonight a little bit..problem for Toronto is, Matsuzaka is pitching for the Red Sox...meaning, the offense is likely to be one sided...pitching match up alone heavily favors the Red Sox...but after keeping the Sox to one run last night scored in the ninth, imagine the bats ready to awaken tonight!
Matsuzaka has won four straight starts -- matching the longest streak of his rookie season last year. Matsuzaka has also won three straight starts against the Blue Jays, even though he allowed seven runs on 10 hits in just 5 1-3 innings against them last Sept. 3 at Fenway Park. He had a 5.18 ERA against them in four starts last year. The only worry here is that Matsuzaka hasn't been himself the last two starts...I dont' take much stock in the 5.18 ERA against the Blue Jays, that is just the luck of the draw...the Red Sox tonight will wake up behind a star pitcher of theirs...and the fact that Matsuzaka took his last start off to get better physically makes me think he'll come back just as strong as ever. Red Sox -1.5 for me tonight.
