If I had to select one team from MLB which were my favourite I’d say Yankees. Usually I like to cheer against the favourites but Yankees seemed to be more like a dynasty. They also did much runs in their matches and if you’ll look baseball for the first time it’s boring without runs so it’s naturally nice to follow their games. Maby the same magic around the team what made me to like them makes other people also to like them. That’s why they’re many times overplayed by the public. I think that’s the situation today too. Tampa Bay leads the series 2-1 after Yankees won yesterday 2-0. The credit went for their ace pitcher Chien-Ming Wang. Today their starting pitcher is aging Mike Mussina. It’s suspected he hasn’t anymore what it takes to be the starter. Maby he proves the thoughts wrong but what I like is that he has 7-1 record against Tampa Bay with 1.96 ERA and there’s no way he’s on the same level anymore. Yankees offence has been rusty but that’s not the first time it happens from the start of the season. They’ll get it better sooner or later, hoping it’s not yet during this match. So far their runs’ve been 2-3-4-3-2-3. They’ve won three of those matches thanks for Wang and Philip Hughes but last season they were 6-36 when scoring 3 runs or less/match. Tampa Bay is a young and hungry team with offencepower scoring 31 runs in four games before Wang shut them down. Their starter is Jason Hammel. Kinda ideal pitcher for Yankees to make their offence work with his 6.70 ERA and 3-11 record from last season. One of his wins came though from Yankees stadium. The spirit among Tampa Bay’s team is high against loveable/hateable opponent and if Hammel can get any of that spirit he can surprise everybody. This is what he says: "It's been expectations ... expectations ... now let's see the potential, I'm not hopeful; it's time for results, without a doubt. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to pitch like I know how to pitch." Two less stronger pitchers and Tampa Bay showing their preparation to the season has been stronger makes me think their odds are playable.
