Another game I like tomorrow is Schalke against Porto. The bookies clearly expect a low scoring game and I’m going against them here. Both teams can play offensive football and that’s why I’m backing the over in this one. I don’t think Schalke’s defensive unit can be trusted not to concede a goal against such forwards as Lucho Gonzalez, Lisandro Lopez and Quaresma. And Schalke won’t sit back and allow Porto to take the game away from them. They are playing good football at the moment, have won two of the last three games in Bundesliga and not only do they score but they also concede many goals. Asamoah and Kuranyi are likely so start up front for Schalke. In the first phase of this game I expect Schalke to push forward and Porto will try to hit them on the counters and they surely have players capable of doing it. As I believe both sides are almost equal (I rate Porto to be just slightly better) I expect the match to be quite even after the first 20-25 minutes or so and I’m looking forward to at least three goals scored in this one. Both teams are capable of scoring and I don’t expect the coaches telling their players to concentrate on defending only. We all know how crucial an away goal might be in this competition and I really expect Porto to score at least once. As far as Schalke is concerned they are playing at home and a win is expected and might be a must if they want to progress to the last eight.
