FA Cup - Swindon v Forest Green
1 December 2007
Preview By Tipster Toffee (England)
Okay I wrote a preview last saturday for a match Droylesden v Forest Green predicting a goal for Forst Green hitman Stuart Fleetwood to score in that match. Well he didnt play in the end due to illness but in that preview there was a load of stats about his and Forest Green's scoring record this season. Here's a quick few..... 22 matches - 48 goals. Fleetwood has 22 of them. Beesley and Bertram (other strikers) have 13 between them. They have scored at least 2 goals per game in their last 11 games !!! They Knocked out Rotherham (3rd in League 2) in the first round, beating them 3-0 at Rotherham's ground. If you want any more go and check out my last saturday preview.
I'd have put my money on a Forest Green goal even if Swindon were at full strength, but today they have a bit of a defensive crisis. Jerel Ifil and Sofiene Zaaboub are both suspended, Ady williams is unfit and therefore 17yr old Ben Tozer could come in. Great news for this bet. Add to that ... this is an FA Cup match and Swindon Town have endured a torrid week ahead of the match, losing their manager after Paul Sturrock defected to Plymouth Argyle. Youth team coach Dave Byrne will act as caretaker manager for the game.
All in all I think Forest Green will see this as a great chance to cause a big upset and get in the hat for the 3rd round and a potentially draw a footballing "Giant". This match should see goals and Over 2.5 is priced up at 1.75 ish. The 1.57 on a Forest Green goal might look short to some people but I reckon its a cert.
Good Luck......
