Formula 1 - Kimi Raikkonen v Long Term Bet
Theres no chance whatsoever of him returning to McLaren, why on earth would they replace Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso? The only thing that could do it is if they fell out and Ron Dennis is far too shrewd to let that happen. its well worth remembering how he managed Prost and Senna and they hated one another yet drove together as teammates for a number of seasons.
Kimi Raikkonens season has not gone well. After winning the opening Grand prix of the year in Australia Kimi has suffered a slump in form and a bit of bad luck, the sort of luck which has dogged his entire career.
Ferrari are not happy. They expect more and were not anticapting this is their 60th year as a manufacturer.
Luca Di Montezemelo has been moaning and today Ferrari launched legal procedings against one of their own team claiming sabotage! He even went so far as to say that they are still waiting to see the real Kimi Raikkonen and how they are waiting to see the fighter in him.
Rumours he has not settled in will do nothing to deflate the rumours. Kimi has been linked with a move to Toyota. They certainly have the budget and have a history of using top drivers. With Ralf Schumacher driving so badly and widely expected to not be driving for them next year that will end the huge salary contract he has and will allow Toyota to employ another driver on a mega contract.
Theres no smoke without fire. I think Kimis odds of leaving are far greater than the odds suggest. Well worth a dabble with some sensible stakes.
