Euroleague - Panathinaikos v CSKA Moscow

Panathinaikos versus the Russians of CSKA Moscow in the big final of Euroleague in Athens.The best two teams of Europe managed to reach here after an impressive year but in general i would say easily.Panathinaikos finished 1st at the starting groups,1st at the second phase and swept Dynamo easily at the top 8.Yesterday managed another easy win against Tau.On the other hand CSKA also finished 1st at the starting groups and at the top 16.The Russians later disqualified Maccabi by 2-1 wins .Versus Malaga yesterday had problem for 35 minutes but at the end left court with the victory.Now things are different and of course more difficult for both teams.

Both teams will play at full squad for one more time as there are no injuries.An interesting battle will take place in this game between two excellent greek playmakers,Dimitris Diamantides for Pao and Theo Papaloukas for CSKA Moscow.Papaloukas performance is a decisive factor for the final result of the match.Theo had an excellent year for one more time.He always come from the bench and help his team when there is a problem.He has the ability to give a fast tempo inside the game or to slow down the rythme.Also he is an excellent stealer but he makes a lot of turnovers too.Against Diamantides,three time voted as the best defender in Europe Papaloukas has to try even more but if you add and the pressure of the green supporters i think Theos performance will not be the same as usually.

CSKA Moscow against Malaga managed to collect 43 rebounds(13 offensive) and Unicaja just 27.For the Spanish team Santiago was out and De Miguel was injured.So against Panathinaikos i see almost the same number of rebounds for both teams.Dejan Tomasevic and Robertas Javtokas will have some extra playing time because are capable to face Van Der Spiegel and Zevrosenko.I expect a hard night for CSKAs big men.

It is known that the Russian generally play strong defense,sometimes they play tough defense beyond the ahtletic limits.In front of the green audience i think the referees will give some extra fouls to the russian team.

I will take Panathinaikos for one more time here with a medium stake and i am waiting inpatiently for the big final.
