A1 Basketball - Aris BC v PAOK BC
17 April 2007

Hayate (Greece)

Ok finally the time for the classic derby of Thessaloniki has come.Aris against Paok tonight in Alexandreio Melathron. At first this game was about to start 17 days ago so now the question is if the two teams are totally ready after the break.Aris stands on the second place on the board and in order to take over this place has to succeed four wins in the following four games. On the other hand Paok after two unlucky results stands on the 5th place and its hopes for the 4th place are not much.
Squad news:The only absense for the home team is Kevin Fletcher but even if the american power forward was not injured he would not play i think. On the other side Paok's Scepanovic and Pasalic overcame their, not serious, health problems and are expected to be ready and help their team today.
I think that normally tonight Aris will crash Paok with 15 points or more.Inside the basket Wilkinson and Giannoulis will not have any problems against ''heavy" Ostoic and Haritopoulos.Jeremiah Massey with his speed can follow easily Pasalic who is an excellent 3-pointer despite the fact that he is a 7-footer.Serbian guard Scepanovic could be a problem but Aris has the solution with veteran Giorgos Sigalas.I think that the best player of Paok will be Kalampokis tonight or maybe Agadakos as usually greek players perform better in classical games like that. Also i see the home team to overcome its standards in offense tonight against the poor defense of Paok.Scales, Castle and Iliadis will have the chance to "kill" their opponent with some free 3-point shots.
Aris fans are expected to support their team tonight as usually in games like this.I will take the home team with a high stake.
