I backed Lorenzi against Florian Mayer but now its tme to go against him. Troicki has won Sydney two times in a row, and there is a big reason for that: the ball bounces very low and he already has a short toss up when he serves. When his opponent receives the ball its so low on the ground that its very hard to return his service. In 2015 he won 5/7 matches in straight sets. Last year he could not repeat that but he played against some very good returners in Mahut and Dimitrov who took sets from him.
I like Lorenzi right now, he's playing good and focused tennis but he does not have the defense nor return to fend of Troicki's serve and forehand. When these two work like they are supposed to, he can challenge most players on the circuit and I do believe he will enjoy the fact that Lorenzi is his first opponent here.
I see a 6-3 6-3 win for Troicki here.
