Larvik will host this sunday Vardar Skopje in a match from the quarterfinals of the Champions League. In the first leg Vardar trashed the norwegians 34-20. The difference between these two teams was massive. Larvik looked bad, really, really bad and I expected them to succumb. Of course such a scoreline was hard to fathom before the game but Vardar winning easily hardly could be counted as a massive surprise. Larvik is far from the team that has been in the last few years; many of it's most important players are simply too old (Hammerseng, Edin, Stange, Riegelhuth, Frafjord, Breivang and so on). And when Nora Mork doesn't play exceptionally Larvik is just a mid level team in Europe at the moment. I think the mood in Larvik camp is not the rosiest, I don't really expect a massively improved showing from them sunday, I think the quality difference is just too big for any other outcome than a Vardar win. Vardar will surely take this match as seriously as possible. A victory in Larvik gives you bragging rights that no one could reject. They have no reason to rest players, or to take it lightely so a clear Vardar win for me here.
