In the second match of the day from the Cricket Twenty20 World Cup hosted by India, England and West Indies will face of in Mumbai. This is the first match in the competition for either side so a good start is a "sine qua non" prerequisite for a long stint at this WC. With South Africa also in this group I expect these two to battle it out for the second place. England has had an abysmal showing in the 2015 ODI WC; they were eliminated in the group stage losing the decisive game against Bangladesh. Since than the english selectors understood that the T20 squad has to have a more free spirited approach to the game to compete at the highest level on the world stage. And ENG has shown a lot of improvement in this format over the past 12 months, not only the results have been promising (winning even in subcontinent conditions, in UAE against Pakistan 3-0) but their unshackled approach makes me think highly of them before this competition. WI has the experience on their side but I don't see them performing in this WC. They hardly look as a team, they are plagued by off field controversies all the time so I don't think they have chances to make inroads here. England with a batting lineup full of potential (Roy, Hales, Buttler, Root, Morgan, Stokes or Ali); solid spinning options Rashid and Ali and a bowling attack spearheaded by Jordan has a very good chance of winning today.
