Larvik will host tonight Ferencvarosi in a match from the 5th round of the Women's Champions League Main Round stage. After being touted as one of the favorites for the Final 4, Larvik is in peril of failing to reach even the quarterfinals and, to be honest, I think that will be the case. But for now let's concentrate on today's match. Larvik has advanced to the MR with two wins over Baia Mare but in the MR has only won against poor Thuringer being clearly outplayed by FTC in Budapest, the hungarians leading even by 8 goals, relaxing in the final minutes, LHK giving the score a more respectable note with a late surge. The next game, the norwegians were outplayed at home by Fleury Loiret 26-31. Larvik is too reliable on Nora Mork which most of the time is reliable but even if she delivers the others can't live up to the challenge as we have seen against Fleury when Mork scored 12 but LHK still lost. For FTC this is not a "life or death" match, the important game for them is the one against Baia Mare next week. Still that doesn't deters me from betting on the away team. A win here would not only be a huge morale boost (wining against one of the most heralded teams in european handbal surely is "something") but they will secure a top 3 finish in this group that meaning they will avoid Buducnost in the QFs, the strongest team on the continent at the moment. I have been utterly unimpressed by Larvik this season and with Nora Mork leaving to Gyor after this season I think this year could be a "swan song" for LHK at the highest level at least for some time. FTC has this habit of being unreliable especially away from home but considering what these two teams have shown this season also in their H2H encounter I find the odd on Ferencvarosi to be huge.
